Why we exist

Supporting die Fichte — in spirit and in substance

Under our current bylaws, we pursue our purpose by, among other things:

  • Trips

    Supporting class, course and group trips.

  • Materials

    Procuring teaching materials and equipment.

  • Individual support

    Supporting individual students or groups.

  • Competitions

    Awards and prizes for school competitions.

  • Events

    Running and co-organizing school events.

  • Public image

    Making the school visible in the community.

Together with the Fichtefreunde we can implement projects quickly that directly help our students. This makes support for our teaching possible that would be unthinkable within the school's own budget. A strong booster club matters — a lot!

What we fund

From class trips to concert hall

Trips

Is your class planning an exciting field trip or trip? The Friends of the School Association will cover the costs for a special event during the trip – as long as the class also contributes to the funding. For example, by holding a bake sale or a charity run.

Technical equipment

Thanks to numerous donations and membership dues, we are able to continually improve the school’s technical equipment – when the school budget isn’t sufficient to cover these costs. Smartboards, sound systems, keyboard, air purifiers – we’ve contributed to many of these purchases.

Student Council Projects

Our students have lots of ideas – and we help them bring them to life. Whether it’s the school dance, the FIFA Cup, the student newspaper, the yearbook, or projects organized by the graduating class, we provide organizational or financial support. We also help fund equipment for common rooms and relaxation areas.

Hoodies, shirts & more — organic and fair

We launched Fichte merch in 2018 – hoodies and shirts in organic cotton with the school logo from the student-council design competition. Order at fichte.shop, pick up at school.
