FichteGoesUK
For many years, die Fichte has started Year 8 with a trip to England – a whole year group, one week, staying with host families on the Kent coast. Help keep this tradition going.

A week in England – for a whole year group
Saturday evening outside the school, two double-decker coaches, a night on the road and, in the morning, the ferry from Calais to Dover. That is how FichteGoesUK begins – the England trip that opens the school year for Year 8.
For a week, students stay with English host families in Ramsgate, usually in threes. English is not practised here, it is used – at breakfast, on the bus, in the shops. On top of that come day trips to London with a ride on the London Eye, to Dover Castle and to Canterbury.
The trip is organised with a school-travel company the school has worked with for many years. After the break caused by Brexit and the pandemic, it restarted in 2025.
So that FichteGoesUK can keep happening – and so that every student can come along, even when money is tight at home – the Förderverein is raising donations for it.
